Dad (or a Scruffy-Looking Nerf Herder) and Isaac

Wait a second. When he handed me this drawing a few weeks ago, he said: "Look, Dad, it's you and me." Now he's telling me it's him and Han Solo. I get second billing to a scruffy-looking Nerf herder? Oh well.

Ice Cream Cone of Doom

Another entry from the amazing world of Ryan, who, it seems, is amazed by the mundane. And that's just fine. Still kind of got a Charles M. Schulz vibe to the whole comic, you know.

Ryan and the Missing Bookmark

Here's another episode in the amazing life of Ryan. I wish my life were as exciting as his.

Stepney Green, or, Like Father, Like Son

When i was a kid, I drew a lot of maps. They started out like my older brother Jeff's maps, whose maps started out like J.R.R. Tolkien's maps. We drew a lot of them. Then I moved on to drawing close-ups of cities, just like this one. Well, not that close up, but pretty close.

Now our oldest is following in my footsteps with Stepney Green. I kinda like it.

Christmas Wish

Yes, it is clear that we have successfully transferred the pop culture of your youth to our own children, seeing as our oldest, in this Christmas card, managed to work in that everybody likes a fat Santa. Eat, eeeat!

Spider Basketball

Somehow, this reminds me of something that might happen in one of those old Disney movies . . .

Santa Claus!

Well, this drawing isn't going to get any more timely if I let it sit in the file any longer. Here's the Jolly Old Elf himself, with a token elf and reindeer to boot. Don't know why his boots are blue, though. I do know why the coat is orange, however. Our daughter may have drawn the picture, but our orange-loving youngest colored it. That in of itself probably explains the blue boots.

Tourist T-Shirts

I haven't featured our daughter here on this spot for a while now, so it's time. Here's another creation from our vacation to Yuma this Christmas: The Tourist T-Shirts.

Hers says "I went to the waterfalls." His says "I saw the craziest cats ever." Don't think we saw either on the trip, though we did stop to see London Bridge. But she's got that vacationey vibe going. That's what counts.

Crayon Family

I've had this little drawing kicking around for a while now, and want to get it used here before I forget about it completely and/or its creator leaves elementary school.
This is our family, plus a stranger -- not quite sure who it is and he can't remember -- drawn by our youngest. We're all eyes, apparently.

Indiana Jones and the Briefcase of Doom

Indiana Jones always looks pretty slick, pulling out his gun when necessary, snagging those Sankara stones and generally whipping things up. But I'll bet there were times he had moments like this one.

(Humble) Vacation Art

From the mouths of babes, they say. Be like the children. Sweet. Innocent. Humble.

Yeah, about that last one. This drawing, not so much.
