Here you go. Another version of the Tree of Life.

The Further Adventures of Sooper Deacon

It's just what happens when you're trying to keep your kid calm and quiet during Sacrament meeting.

Angry Birds

Yes, our oldest is certainly into Angry Birds. How can I tell? Found this about a week ago . . .

For the Kids

Just a little something I brewed up for the kids a few days before Christmas, when the anticipation was so palpable you could cut it with a knife.

Dragon Tryptich

I have a dragon-loving daughter I was trying to amuse a few weeks ago, and came up with these. I'm not sure she was amused, but I was having fun. I'm particularly proud of the first one.

Run Silent. Run Deep

For the longest time, I've had this idea that I wanted to write a play about roommates fighting over something and making several attempts to jump, leap, or crash on their junk-covered couch, all the time complaining about the slob who lives with them and who always leaves the place a perpetual mess. They never get to sit on the couch or set it afire, covered in junk as it is. which is a good thing, since the slob is asleep under the rubble the whole time. This is the closest I've ever gotten to writing it down.

The Further Adventures of Sooper Deacon

At church today, once again I found time to doodle some Sooper Deacon stuff. Tried to get our oldest involved, but he was having none of it, since he had the iPad Mini and was reading The New Era. The things kids these days get up to.

The Adventures of Sooper Deacon

I have indeed been a slacking slacker, not having posted an update to this site in just over a month. But I make it up to you tonight, with the presentation of what could be a long-lived comic strip, Sooper Deacon. It's what our oldest and I drew at church today as I was trying to improve his mood. It worked until he figured out he had to stay after church for another meeting.

I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas

Actually, this is about as close as I ever want to get to a hippo. From what I hear, they're more dangerous than lions and hyenas.

I do think they'd make the "oop" sound, too.

Mustache Contest

Dad's been doodling again. And I aspire to have a bears and mustache like that third guy one of these days, when I'm old and pruny.

Opa in Heaven

Got to thinking about Dad today, and what he might be doing in heaven. Then I remembered I drew this picture of that very thing for my Primary class earlier this year.

Hellfire

Don't really know where this one came from.

Brother VanWinkle

This was me at church a few weeks ago. Literally and figuratively.

That First Kiss

A diptych tonight of first kiss pictures. The latter one was actually drawn first, with some editorial changes by our youngest who didn't want to be the one kissing the monkey. Then our daughter drew the former, getting revenge for all under five feet tall.

Birthday Bi Happy

Happy 40th Birthday to me. Many moons ago.

This card came to me from one of my Primary kids. Birthday Bi Happy to me.

On the Ark

Our weenie dog pooped on the study floor tonight. I feel Noah's pain . . .

Church Doodle: Baby Blessing

Once in a while, I wish they'd do something different when they bless a baby at church. Like this.

And maybe a few things like this when they pass the sacrament.

The choir could also be pepped up a bit.

But maybe I'm just a silly man making silly drawings. That's probably it.

Cheer Up

You know, there are times I don't like to go to church myself, and, ironically, mostly it's when our 11-year-old isn't happy to be there either. So to cheer us both up, I draw silly little pictures. Here's the batch from Christmas Day.

Temples

This from our daughter. It's been on the real physical fridge in our house for a long time, and finally got cleaned off to find a home here.
