Mustache Contest

Dad's been doodling again. And I aspire to have a bears and mustache like that third guy one of these days, when I'm old and pruny.

Coat of Arms

Unfortunately, I've misplaced our oldest's interpretation of this coat of arms, which he drew for himself at school. It features LEGO, of course, and his Scooter cartoon character. I've forgotten, however, what the Latinish wording means . . .

UPDATE: Found his explanation of the logo, here in all its glory:

He is His Father's Son

I used to draw maps like this as a kid. And I've never shown my boy any of the maps I drew, because all of them, to the last one, got thrown away (not blaming anyone, that's just what happened). So seeing him draw like me is just weirding me out.

CELL!

We're talking cells here, folks. We're talking mitosis and spores. And later on, we'll be talking symbolism of the city as a cell . . .

Here we go with the city metaphor, followed by the explanation. Good stuff, right?

Ah, when learning was fun. . .

Happy Annualversity!

Just dawned on me that I've been plugging away at My Kids' Refrigerator for over two years now. Who knew kids' art could be so entertaining?

Well, I did. That's why I started this blog in the first place.

But my how the kids have grown. Our oldest is now bucking for teenager and our youngest thinks any day now, ANY DAY NOW, Dad is going to hand over the keys to the truck and just let him have at it. Ah, to be young again.

Casual Day

Fortunately for me, I work at a place like this. We don't necessarily have nudes wandering the place (which is a good thing since we're mostly ugly engineering types with way too much body hair (sorry for that image)) but we do have a nice laid-back atmosphere.

Personally, I think I resemble the caveman the most.

Scooter: Character Study and Weiner Shenanigans

Character sketches, just like the pros.

And weirdness. Just like the pros.

Opa in Heaven

Got to thinking about Dad today, and what he might be doing in heaven. Then I remembered I drew this picture of that very thing for my Primary class earlier this year.
